If you're bad at something you might as well be very bad. I've mentioned here and there how much I admire those of you who have super organized collections and what a mess mine is. Here's some proof. This box has been sitting on the floor in my office/card room.
I swear I had no idea what cards were in the box. Here's a sampling covering four sports (I could have come up with more) and spanning over 40 years.
2005 UD Signature Decades #SD-MS
1969 Topps #597
1984 Topps #123
1982 Topps #55
1969-70 Topps #10
1971-72 Topps #125
1972-73 Topps #169
2007-8 Topps #119
That's a pretty freaking amazing box.
ReplyDeleteWow. That was one heck of a box. Wish I had a Schmidt autograph and a Fingers rookie card just laying around in my office.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Unreal!
ReplyDeleteI never noticed how much a young Rollie looked like young Nomar before.
ReplyDeleteIt's like a miniature card show on your floor! I've had a whole bunch of those experiences over the past two years... The only reason I haven't had a similar find lately is because I haven't had time to dig into any of those mystery boxes in my man cave.
ReplyDeleteThere is an element of fun in being disorganized.
DeleteOn the flip side, how many times do you buy cards you already have?
ReplyDeleteYou might think. Actually it's only happened a few times. I know I have two 1960 Topps "Fork and Knuckler" and a couple of modern Lou Boudreau's but nothing pricey. I'm a bit of an idiot savant when it comes to cards. Otherwise I can't remember what I did two days ago.
