Andre Dawson Day in Chicago

Today was Andre Dawson Day in Chicago and Andre was honored prior to tonight's game at Wrigley Field.  Always a gentlemen,  he thanked the Cubs fans again for their contribution to his career.  It's great to see Dawson getting the attention he deserves.  I only wish there had been a packed house.  It seems the number of fans actually coming to the games recently has dropped off significantly, even for weekend and night games and twenty or so minutes before the game,  during the Dawson ceremony,  the park looked like it used to on a rainy September day back in the 1970's.

Fan Pack Fun -- Cincinnati Reds

The Central Division leading Cincinnati Reds sent a nice fan pack.

The mascot cards are 5" x 7"

Three very nice stickers:

Don't you just love Mr. Redlegs?

Santo Saturdays -- A New Find

While doing my one one my frequent searches for Ron Santo cards I came across one that I had never seen before.  It's from a set put out by the "National Ethnic Heritage Foundation" and the "Sons of Italy Foundation".  The cards enticed me enough that I bought a set.  I'll be posting some of my favorites soon.  For now here's Ron:

The border around the image is gold that my scanner doesn't pick up well.
So far I haven't been able to place this image.  Does anyone know where it comes from?

2010 Obak Box Break -- Pack 20

Pack 20 -- That's All Folks!

My last but not least favorite is Wayne Terwilliger because it's f*&#ing Wayne Terwilliger!

Fan Pack Fun -- Well Not So Much -- Arizona Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks fan pack is more of a booklet than a pack.

This has been discussed elsewhere but how dumb is it that the Diamondback's mascot is a bobcat?  Don't bobcats eat snakes?

2010 Obak Box Break -- Pack 19

Pack 19 -- Last Auto

My last auto was Ben McDonald.  My box sucked for autos.

How can my favorite not be the inspirational Jim Abbott?

2010 Obak Box Break -- Pack 18

Day 10 -- Pack 18

I like the Greenberg mini

Connie Mack is my favorite from this pack.  Tony LaRussa  would have to manage 12 more years averaging about 90 wins a season to catch him.

Fan Pack Fun -- Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins sent a very nice fan pack.  It came in a plain 9x12 envelope.

Great letterhead.  You can't see it here but there's even a watermark in the center using the helmet logo.

Two NFL Schedules

Three Redskins Schedules

Pen

Great Keyring

Two 3 x 3-3/4" reusable decals

I couldn't scan the poster which is 22" x 17".  Around the edge are the names of the players, their colleges and majors.
