Tonight is the first night of Hanukkah. I'll be sharing cards and videos of some of my favorite "Chosen" baseball players over these eight crazy nights. I celebrate Christmas. Feel free to eat some latkes and celebrate the Festival of Lights along with me.
The '64 is my only vintage Sandy outside of leader cards, maybe just one (not sure). I really don't have a lot of mondern ones either. I got lucky pulling the silk rookie from a blaster.
I knew the first card was a Monarch! I've grown to love their cards, some of my favorite oddballs! I have a couple of Ty Cobbs. Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas, Hack! Celebrate all month long!
I think I still have a couple of unopened Monarch packs somewhere. I did one pack break four years ago. I wish I had the patience to make some latkes. Nothing better than a nice crispy edged one right out of the pan.
"One for each night, they shed a sweet light to remind us of days long ago..." It's that time of year when some of the songs we learned in my elementary school music classes come back to me. :-)
Happy Hanukkah, I'm looking forward to seeing the others.
Koufax is an excellent choice to kick off Hanukkah. That's a sharp looking '64 Topps card!

I can hear that song in my head right now. It's not a bad melody. Bet you can guess who the next Jew will be.
DeleteHappy Hanukkah!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteWow. That Sons of Israel card is pretty awesome! Don't think I've ever seen that set. And your '64 looks to be in amazing condition. I'm very jealous.
ReplyDeleteThe Monarch cards are pretty cool. I'm always jealous of your collection. ;)
DeleteHappy Hanukkah Hackenbush! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! And alliteration is good. :)
DeleteThis should be a fun little series... and it's good to have you blogging again!
