And We're Giving You a Tie!

I'm not a father myself but today is one of those days when I think of my own dear old dad.  This is an oft posted picture of my baseball loving father outside his school in Chicago in the 1930's.

Cubs legend Stan Hack was my dad's favorite player in his youth.  Coincidentally my favorite Cub is also a legendary Cubs 3rd baseman, Ron Santo.

Here are a few never before published photographs of my Dad Marv as a young man about town in Chicago.

Happy Father's Day.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there.  I don't have kids and my Dad has been gone for a couple of decades.
Here he is outside of his School in Chicago

My Dad's favorite player growing up was Cubs third baseman, Stan Hack.  He acquired the autographed card below as an adult but I'd like to think he had a copy as a kid.
Coincidentally my favorite player growing up was also the Cubs third baseman, in my case Ron Santo. I miss my Dad and I miss Ronnie. Both Hall of Famers in my book.
I got this card signed TTM right after Ron retired.

500th Post -- Dad and Stan Hack

My very first post was a tribute to my Dad who instilled in me my love of baseball and the Cubs.  It's only fitting that I honor him with this post, my 500th.

Here's my Dad back in the day.  Nice glove -- and hat!

Stank Hack was Dad's favorite Cub growing up.
He may have had this card as a kid but this particular one is one he bought later in life.

The next post will be a contest to celebrate this one!
