Animalloys

I'm not much of a fan of modern mini cards but I do collect tobacco cards from time to time.  Here's one of my favorite sets, 1934 W.D. & H.O. Wills Animalloys.

Some examples:

This is the complete set in pages:

Card of the Day -- 1911 Helmar Historic Homes

Here's the latest addition to my wondrous binder of tobacco cards.  I've been coveting these 1911 T69's for a long time.  This is my first but hopefully not last.
This looks to be the source material for the card.  The unknown artist changed the time of year from what looks like spring to winter and added the old lady passing by.
Here's a first edition of Hawthorne's novel.  It was sold by Bauman Rare Books.  If you watch Pawn Stars you're familiar with them.

Tobacco Card Tuesday -- Ewe Might Like It

I'm not really a fan of contrived animal pictures and some of the others in this 1935 set are kinda weird but this one was just too cute to pass up.  If you're familiar with 1948 Bowman's (think Musial rookie) this card is just about the same size

More 1930's Foreign Weapons

In January I posted one card from this set, here.  I'll never collect all 300 but I did add five more.

Tobacco Card Tuesday -- Picturesque Bridges

Issued by John Player and Sons in 1929 these eleven cards were part of a series of twenty-five.  I thought it would be fun to see if I could find a photograph to go with each one.
