My wife will stop whatever she's doing to watch the singing of our national anthem before Blackhawks home games. She loves hearing Jim Cornelison so for her birthday a few weeks ago I bought her this card.
We love Jim's rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner". Who's your favorite?
No video of Game 3, but here's game 4: https://youtu.be/2ienVdunk9Q
And a couple days after the start of the Gulf War in 1991: https://youtu.be/Dmyatm0t3Bg
It's loud at the UC, but the anthem in the Stadium was truly deafening. I cannot describe it - you had to be there and experience it. Players commented on how the ice would vibrate from the noise.
Wow. Seeing that performance at the United Center was pretty cool. Makes me wanna go to a Blackhawks home game at some point in my lifetime. As for my own personal favorite, I have no clue who they were... but they had some kids singing the national anthem at a Warriors game years ago... and they were fantastic.
I'm not even American, but Rene Rancourt singing the anthem gives me chills.
ReplyDeleteWhoa - this card EXISTS??????
ReplyDeleteAnd for those wondering why we go nuts and don't remain silent during the anthem, here's why it started:

ReplyDeleteHe's awesome. Such power! It's always cool when he points to the flag and the crowd gets louder.
