Update Backdate?

My interest in buying any new baseball product lately is very low.  The 2014 Topps Update cards I've seen posted lately have not done anything to change my mind.  I do however have my pack stash and guess what?  I had two packs of 2013 Update.

I guess Roberto counts as a bonus card since I came out with 25 cards.  I didn't notice till I had them all scanned.  Clemente is also the best card in the group.

I've sorted the rest into categories.

Gamers I like who both played for the Cubs, Braves and Blue Jays.

Cuban Phenoms

All-Stars

Infielders Making the Play

Throwbacks

This is a fantasy throwback

Pitching Face

Well, maybe.

Robert Crumb Loves Early Jazz Part 5 Wingy, Pops, Steve and Earl

For those of you who can't get enough of these cards here are four more.  Hopefully you're listening to some of the music as well.

Yazoo Early Jazz Greats by R. Crumb Part 4 Ikey, Roy, Jack and Jabbo

One thing you notice from reading the backs of the cards, assuming you don't already know, is how many of these guys worked with one another.  There's more great artwork from Robert Crumb in this group.  I wonder what became of the original watercolors. (I found a reference to an exhibit at the Philadelphia Institute of Art in 2008 that included an unspecified number of them.)

Yazoo! Part 3

Yazoo!  It's part three of the exciting continuing series of Early Jazz Greats.  If you missed the first installment, these cards were issued originally by Yazoo Records way back in 1982.  The artwork is by noted cartoonist R. Crumb.

I'm into old-time music; I'm not very interested in modern, popular music at all. And if I'm really into some particular old-time musician, some fiddler or banjo player, I'm always dying of curiosity to see what they look like. So there's some connection between visual images and music.

Prime Time

You were probably expecting this, so:

While not as exciting as Neon Deion, I did enjoy opening this pack of 2014 Topps Prime Football.

I'm a big fan of full bleed photography and these deliver.  They also have nice gloss and color.  I didn't pull any Bears and I would have liked a Peyton Manning but my selection was pretty good.
