Fan Pack Fun -- Seattle Mariners
Here's the Fan Pack I received from the Mariners. They do a heck of a job fitting a bunch of stuff into a letter sized envelope.
Always nice to have another Griffey and Ichiro

2010 Obak Box Break -- Pack 15
I received my box of Tristar Obak a week ago Monday. Can you believe I have only opened 16 of 20 packs? Here's Pack 15:
May favorite card from this pack has to be the Moe Berg. A WWII era spy, Casey Stengel called Moe, "the strangest man ever to play baseball."

I've got to make the signed Luis Gonzalez my favorite card of this good pack. He's a fan favorite in Phoenix and I liked him for the couple of years he played with the Cubs. I have a couple of relic cards but not any auto's so though this card isn't worth much monetarily I was happy to see it.

Fan Pack Fun -- Oakland Athletics
I recently requested fan packs from a bunch of MLB and NFL teams. Here's what came from the Oakland Athletics.

I like the logo envelopes.
This would have been nicer had it been on letterhead.

Schedule

I said in my request that Coco Crisp was my favorite player so it was nice of them to send two of these 4" x 6-1/2" photos.
This reminded me of another Koko:

This card is representative of what is great about this set, lots of baseball history big and small.

Fan Pack Fun -- Philadelphia Eagles
Earlier this year I sent for and received a Cubs fan pack but was too lazy to request them from other teams. Well, I finally did and I'll share my results as they come in. The Eagles were very nice, first sending a pleasant confirmation e-mail and a few days later this 9x12 envelope.

Everything below will enlarge with a click or two:

Wow, how much does a Swoop auto go for on Ebay. Just kidding!

I like the "Diet' bit.

Cute, Hank.
A pencil. Cool!
A nice keyring.
Thanks Eagles.
2010 Obak Box Break -- Pack 12
On to pack 12:
Does anyone know why Hulk Hogan is in this set? He's "The Pop Icon". The only one? Hulk Hogan? I don't get it, Tristar.
I once read that in a taste test people preferred Hunts Catsup to Heinz Ketchup. Not me man. I was raised on Ketchup and I'm not switching. Here's to you, Henry Heinz. You are my favorite card in pack 12.
Santo Saturdays -- Double-knit Edition
"None of these things is not like the others. None of these things just isn't the same."
The only Ron Santo cards in my collection that show him in a double-knit uniform all use this one picture. It has to be from 1972-73, his last two seasons with the Cubs before being traded to the White Sox. The stripe of the sleeve narrows it down to 1972. My first thought here was that no-one looked good in these tight fitting uniforms. Then I remembered the Cardinals and guys like Ozzie Smith and Willie McGee. So, let me say instead that meatier guys late in their careers didn't look so good. No offense, Ron.
