Rich Daley announced the other day that he will not be running for another term as Mayor of Chicago, the office he's held since April of 1989. His announcement brought to mind the death of his father Richard J. Daley who was Mayor from 1955 to 1976. Steve Goodman wrote a touching tribute to the old man:
