Happy Independence Day!

Hope you're having a great holiday.
This postcard is from the late 1930's/early 1940's.

Today is the 79th anniversary of one of the most bittersweet moments in baseball history, Lou Gehrig Appreciation Day at Yankee Stadium 1939.

  1. A. Sweet postcard.

    B. It's a good thing I wasn't a kid in the 1920's/1930's, because I have a feeling Gehrig would have been my favorite player and I might have ended up a Yankees fan. I'm not an advocate for athletes being role models, but Lou Gehrig sure comes close.

  2. Nice postcard, and wow.. the video. What a man.
