On This Day in Sports History -- The Great One

On this date in 1994 Wayne Gretzky became the NHL's All-Time Goal Scoring Leader with 802.

Of course, The Great One passed Mr. Hockey that night in 1994.  "Records are made to be broken."

They're All Champs

I don't know the story on Upper Deck's Champs hockey.  Was it released in the US?  Was it a limited quantity?  There don't seem to be a lot out there.  Here are four Hall of Famers I got my hands on.

Hall of Famer Bob Pulford is 76 today.

Parkhurst Tall Boys

Pulford won  four Stanley Cups with Toronto in the 1960's.

Here are the last moments and celebration from the Leafs last Cup win in 1967, Pulford's fourth.

Autographed Cards A-Z Hockey Edition H

When I got back into collecting five or so years ago one of the things that excited me was the availability of autographed cards.  Perhaps I went a little overboard but I think I picked up some nice cards.  This will be an A-Z series of posts with varying numbers of cards.

I'll probably never get  a Wayne Gretzky autograph but I have this card featuring two Hall of Famers that played with him.

If you've been following along you'll get that I collect players from the early 1970's Bruins Stanley Cup teams.

More Parkies Missing Link Cards

I bought two more packs of 1956-57 Parkies Missing Links.  These are the highlights.  I think they speak for themselves.  Suffice it to say, I like them.
