Ceci N'est Pas une Piece de Monnaie

Sorry.  If you're looking for more Heritage I don't have any.  All I have are some beat up old cards from the 80's--------------- the 1880's!

These 8 cards are from the 50 card set, Coins of All Nations (N72) from 1889.  I love the artwork though I would assume there's something here that would offend someone.

Here's one back with the checklist.
And all eight backs.

In case anyone wonders about my title it's a takeoff on this painting by Magritte:

  5. So you live where? And in what room do you store those cards? And when will you not be home so I can come over and "protect" them?

  6. Very cool cards. The Hungary card is my favorite. What the heck is that guy doing behind that coin? Wait. I don't want to know.

  7. I love the tobacco cards of the late 1800s. There is also a 1889 (N85) Duke's stamps of the world set. They are also beautifully illustrated but they are realistic illustrations compared to the caricature illustrations used on the coins cards.
