Burdick at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

I have a complete base set of 2009 Obak and bought a box of 2010.  Unfortunately I'm missing this card so I borrowed the image from COMC.

My wife has a subscription to The New Yorker magazine.  She knew I'd be interested in this.  In case you missed it I thought I'd pass it along to you.

This is from an earlier exhibit of football cards
This one comes via Matthew Glidden of Number 5 Type Collection.

  1. Holy cow. I just realized the T in the famed T206's stands for tobacco.
BTW, 2009 Obak is the set that brought me back into collecting. If I could find a couple boxes of the 2010 edition I would totally snatch them up and try to build that one, too.

    1. Obak is a set I'd like to see re-booted. So interesting.

  2. I went to see some of the Burdick collection many years ago. I don't know whether this is still true, but at the time you could make an appointment and then ask to see specific albums during the allotted time. Worth the time if they still offer it (once all this is over, of course).

    1. Not likely I'll ever get there but I'd like to. The Art Institute of Chicago is probably my favorite place on earth. My wife and I had a membership but since moving to Iowa we haven't been back.

    1. I was hoping someone who didn't know about it would see it here.

  4. 30,000 vintage baseball cards? The Metropolitan Museum of Art is officially on my bucket list.

  5. At least you can view them online. Much cheaper.
