It's the First Day of Summer
Today is the first day of astronomical summer. We hit the summer solstice here in the Midwest tonight at 11:24 PM. I actually prefer going by meteorological seasons. They're simpler. Summer is always June 1 to August 31. In general I'm not a big fan of summer. Too hot, too noisy, too buggy. And the sun coming up so early wakes me up. "Hey you kids get off my lawn!" Oh, yeah, and I hate having to mow the lawn.

Im no fan of summer either. Of course when it gets too hot it affects my breathing so I have good reason. I remember Summer Sanders from when she was co-host of NBA Inside Stuff. I surely saw her in the Olympics but didn't remember she was an Olympian at the time. I remember watching 1992 but I didn't become a super fan like I am now until 1996.
ReplyDeleteI too remember her from NBA Inside Stuff, but I never knew she did anything of note, I had always assumed she was just some gal co-hosting an uninteresting television program.

ReplyDeleteI don't think I'm done yet. Just having trouble getting motivated lately (like for two years?) I have more ideas than energy/time. Thanks for keeping me on your feed or whatever.

ReplyDeleteI'm actually not sure. It took me forever to find the three I did and they were together. Makes sense to pick one up though.
DeleteSummer (season) sucks! We've been suffering triple digit weather for a week now. Love Summer Sanders though. I remember cheering her on with the family during the Olympics.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful person and a very gifted athlete. Swimming is one thing I could never do well because I am not a floater. Tried once in the Caribbean and managed to sink there too. Great collection!!
