Ron Santo XL

I only have but one serious player collection and it's my boyhood hero, Ron Santo.  To a lot of us he was larger than life.  Here are  a bunch Santo cards that are larger than most.

This card is from the 1963 Exhibit Supply Co. set.   It measure 3-3/8" x 5-3/8" and is printed on heavy stock.  There were 64 cards in the set.
I'm not sure who signed this but it doesn't appear to have been Ron.  Has anyone familiar with these cards seen the same thing with other players in the set?

Next we have a 1964 Topps Giants card.  It measures 3-1/8" x 5-1/4".  The set was comprised of 60 cards.  Considering their age they are a good collecting value.  The most recent sale of a Ron Santo on Ebay was for 99 cents.

This is a 1967 Dexter Press card.  It measures 5-1/2" x 7".  The 229 cards were issued as Coca Cola premiums in team sets.  This one has a tear in it (I think I might have done it).  I have a better one.  Ron looks like he wants to say something.  Big surprise!  He also looks to have bulked up some since the last two cards.

This card is super.  It's a 1970 Topps Super, part of a 42 card set.  On thick stock with rounded corners it measures 3-1/8" x 5-1/4".  The back is similar to the regular issue card.
This is the regular issue card.  Odd that the cartoons differ.

Here's the 1971 Topps Super.  The only change was that the set grew to 63 cards.

I don't know much about the next four cards other than that they were obviously given out a Wrigley Field and that there were prizes associated with the scratch off portion.  I'm sure someone out there can fill in the details.  The first three have the same back.

The back says "authenticated autographed photo" but this card is unsigned.  Again, not sure whats going on here.

  1. The June 13, 2005 card was for Ron Santo autographed photo day. Winners were given an autograph photo of Ron Santo.

Link to an ended Ebay auction for the signed photo.

If you don't want to click the link, simply search "Ron Santo Exelon" in google images and it should be one of the first pictures.

I am not sure of the value, but since his passing his autograph has increased substantially.
    Hope this helps.
