Fan Pack Fun 2017 -- Montreal Canadiens

I haven't done one of these in around three years.  How much fun is it to pull an envelope like this out of the mailbox?  Face it, there's a little boy in all all of us when it comes to our love of sports and collecting.   This is the only fan pack request I've made this time but it's a nice one.  My team is the Blackhawks, who have a long history, and a great recent one.  But there isn't any hockey team that has a more illustrious past then the Montreal Canadiens.

I've received fancier fan packs but I'm thrilled will one like this.
3 pocket schedules
3 stickers
3 postcards

  1. I didn't even know Fan Packs were a thing. Pretty neat!

  2. Oh wow I hadn't thought about fan packs for a long time. I used to send off to my teams every year. Great return especially the postcards.

  3. Pretty cool! Those look like big cards to me. Do all teams do this and how do you get them?

    1. I'd say a majority of teams do. The only Chicago team that does (or has done0 is the Cubs. Some can be reached through their web pages. Others require a postcard. Some require a small fee. I sent a fee to the Cowboys one year and never received anything. America's Team. Right! I'm always grateful for anything but I've received some really nice packages from some teams. The Chicago Sky sent me a t-shirt (that I gave to my wife.) The Yankees sent a cap. Some send pencils, keyrings and the like. It's just fun to see what might show up in your mailbox.

    2. The White Sox have a "Kids Club" you can sign up for. Trust me - my kids have been under 10 years of age for YEARS.

The Slugger is free and I have recvd cards, stickers, tattoos - lots of fun stuff. Looks like tattoos and stickers again this year.

      Which reminds me.....

  4. Fun stuff! I did a bunch of fan packs in the 1990's and got similar interesting results. I never thought about whether teams still did such things.

  5. I haven't sent out fan pack requests in years. This one was pretty solid. Looks like the Canadiens definitely knows how to take care of their fans.

    1. I see them as a class organization and they do seem to act that way. They actually sent me an e-mail apologizing for being late responding to my request.

  7. I hate that Andrew Shaw plays for them now...

  8. The Habs team are cheap when it comes to fan packs, you request a certain player and they give you another player instead. Sad for an organization not to cater to fans anymore. The team needs a complete overhaul form the management, front office, players, scouting department and the marketing department.

    1. I guess I have low expectations. As far as I know, my Blackhawks, a franchisew that in the last decade has been very fan/community friendly, won't send anything for free.
