TILT!

I've been seriously organizing my collection lately, so much so that I've barely spent any time on Blogger.  I obviously haven't been posting and worse, I haven't been reading your blogs either.   Here are some cards I came across.  Are they not the tiltiest (yeah, that's a word- we're not playing Scrabble here) cards you've ever seen.  They actually make me a bit seasick.

  1. Yea... not the best deign element there, is it? That Mota card is especially trippy, being that the lean on his follow through actually makes it look like he's standing straight up.

  2. These cards have the design of a late 80's '70's rocker trying to stay cool and hip with the kids' album. Just a little too dated for my tastes, and probably a lot of other peoples' too.

  3. Glad to hear you're making good progress on organization, I'd been wondering about you!

  4. Not really a good design choice, IMO... and it doesn't help that I've never heard of most of the players. I'd be awfully tempted to recycle the lot of them.

  5. I've got a bunch of these... Definitely not a good design.

I'm about 99% certain that Joe Lis is the son of the 1970's 1B/OF Joe Lis, who appeared on 5 Topps card while being airbrushed on three of them.

    1. You are correct sir. In fact, I originally meant to put blurbs about earch player but got bored pretty quickly so I deleted the one's I'd finished. I had a picture of one of Joe Lis Sr's cards included. BTW, Gary Mota is the son of Dodgers legend Manny Mota. And while I'm at it, how about Public Enemy #1's namesake, John Dillinger.
