Blow Out the Candles July 20

Twins great Tony Oliva is celebrating his 74th birthday today.

Topps gave Tony the honor of appearing on"00" card.  The others were, 100-Hank Aaron, 200-Bob Gibson, 300-Felipe Alou, 400-Don Drysdale, 500-Mickey Mantle.  Godd company, wouldn't you say?

Oliva was the AL ROY in 1964 and made eight straight All-Star teams between 1964 and 1971.  His #6 was retired by the Minnesota Twins.  Tony is one of those guys who's Hall of Fame worthiness is often debated.

Hall of Famer Heine Manush was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama on this date in 1901.
