Orioles star Mike Cuellar was born in Santa Clara, Cuba on this date in 1937.
With a lifetime record of 185-130, Mike was a 4 time All-Star, 2 time WS Champ, and was the 1969 AL Cy Young Award winner.  He was a part of the last starting rotation to feature four pitchers with at least twenty victories each in one season.
 Palmer, McNally, Cuellar and Dobson all won at least 20 games in 1971.

Lifetime .323 hitter and Hall of Famer Edd Roush was born in Oakland City, Indiana on this date in 1893.
Roush is on the far left. 

19th Century star and Hall of Famer Dan Brouthers was born in Sylvan Kale, NY on this date in 1858.

  1. I always pronounce Mike Cuellar's name a Cellular. Can't get away from it.

    Edd Roush was born in the same county as my father-in-law. Good people come from Gibson County, Indiana.
