  1. Those are some sweet photos of the Say Hey Kid... Just begging for someone to make custom cards of them.

I used to enjoy watching "What's My Line" on GSN, I wish they'd bring that back.

    1. There are a ton of the shows/segments on YouTube, at least the mystery guest parts. I use them now and then here.

  2. Thanks for this post. As I discovered back in 1967 (when first reading the back of this card), Mays was born 3 days after my father, and 6 years to the day after my uncle (both now deceased).

    1. Jim--Baseball has seemingly always been something passed down from father to son. Love hearing about the connection. BTW my Mays is from a pack I got in 1967. Do you still have the one you mentioned?

    2. I had all the series 1 thru series 6 cards during 1967 (except for the Cardinals Team card). Most of the series 1 thru series 6 cards I have now are the ones I got that year. A few of the more "beat" cards have been upgraded to better versions in the last few years. (These were probably from series 1 & 2, which I mostly acquired from other kids via flipping, since I didn't start buying cards until May of that year.)

I'm pretty sure the Mays (& Mantle) cards are my originals. I know of some I specifically replaced (Luis Aparicio - because the back was written on, and Alvin Jackson - because there was a hole worn through the card, over his face; a few others also).

  4. Fantastic Willie Mays stuff. I still find myself singing "Say Hey! Say Who? Say Willie!" when I think of Willie Mays. And the What's My Line clip is also gold, not to mention that last picture of Willie and Aaron...I have never seen that one before.
