1961 Topps #238Jim "Junior" Gilliam was born on this date in 1928. An All-Star for the Negro League Elite Giants Junior made his major league debut in 1953 and was voted Rookie of the Year. He played for 14 years with the Brooklyn and LA Dodgers. He became a Dodgers coach in 1967, a job which he held until his death in 1978.
