Cubs favorite "Jolly Cholly" Charlie Grimm was born in St. Louis, Missouri on this date in 1898.
Charlie was the last manager to lead the Cubs to the World Series (in 1945).

My favorite Cubs manager Lou Piniella is celebrating his 70th birthday today.
