One of the 1970's "Swingin' A's, Sal Bando, is celebrating his 69th birthday today.

Sal was a 4 time All-Star and 3 time World Series Champ.

June 14, 1967-- Bando played 47 games for the Kansas City Athletics in '67.  In 1968 the team moved to Oakland and Sal would play in all 162 games.

The Swingin' A's won World Series Championships in 1972, 73 and 74.

Sal is currently the CEO of the Middleton Doll Company.

Artist Grant Wood was born in Anamosa, Iowa on this date in 1891.
