Blow Out the Candles December 8

17 year NHL star center Gordon "Red" Berenson turns 72 today.
1973-74 Topps #174

Red did what very few have done in a game when he scored six goals against the Philadelphia Flyers on November 7, 1968.

In 1984 Red took over the reigns of the Michigan Wolverines hockey team and has held the position ever since. His teams have made 10 "Frozen Four" appearances and have won two NCAA championships, 1996 and 1998.

Author Bill Bryson is celebrating his 60th birthday today.
Bryson is one of my favorite authors.  I'm terrible at book reviews but if you're looking for some fun non-fiction here are a few of my favorites.  Check them out on Amazon.

Scrappy Cubs outfielder Reed Johnson is celebrating his 35th birthday today.  Reed's a free agent but I hope the Cubs resign him.

Actress Teri Hatcher is celebrating her 47th birthday today.  She's real and she's spectacular!

  1. Watching Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane was an awesome way to spend an hour a week as a teenager, especially with that shorter haircut. On the other hand, I haven't seen a minute of Desperate Housewives or anything else she's done since that Bond movie, really.
