Pitcher Jim Bouton is celebrating his 72nd birthday today.

Jim is probably best know for his book, Ball Four which was published in 1970 and is still on bookstore shelves today.

Phillies and White Sox great Dick Allen turns 69 today.

Dick Allen was the 1964 NL Rookie of the Year, a 7 time All-Star and the 1972 AL MVP.  He also played in the first game I saw as a kid in 1969.







Singer/Songwriter, Carole Bayer Sager is 64 today
Carole won an Oscar for the theme to the movie "Arthur", and a Grammy for "That's What Friends are For".

Carole was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987.  Click the link to read more.

The Neil Simon musical "They're Playing Our Song" was based on the real life relationship between Sager and Marvin Hamlisch who co-wrote wrote the songs for the show.
